The Collin County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP) is a cooperative effort between the Collin County Juvenile Probation Department and the McKinney Independent School District. The program is housed at 4690 Community Ave., McKinney, TX. Classes are held daily and follow the McKinney ISD Calendar.
The program serves students (ages 10 to 21) who have been expelled from Collin County school districts under Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code for serious offenses such as felony drug possession, assault, weapons possession, or for persistent misbehavior in a local district alternative education program. As required by law, JJAEP provides daily instruction and supervision for students placed at JJAEP. The goals of the program are twofold: to provide an effective education program for youth and to help students achieve behavioral and academic improvement.
